I-PROFEN Tablets contain 400 mg ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain, inflammation, and fever by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase and prostaglandin synthesis. Indicated for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, musculoskeletal pain, toothache, menstrual pain, and headaches. Adults and children over 12 years: 600–1800 mg daily, max 2400 mg.

Active ingredients: Each tablet contains:
Ibuprofen 400 mg

Mode of Action:
I-Profen Tablets contain ibuprofen which is a propionic acid class of NSAIDs with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-pyretic activity through its inhibitory effect on the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase, which results in a marked reduction in prostaglandin synthesis.

Indications:
• It is used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or Still’s disease), arthritis of the spine, ankylosing spondylitis, swollen joints, frozen shoulder, bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, lower back pain, sprains and strains.
• It can also be used to treat other painful conditions such as toothache, pain after operations, period pain and headache, including migraine.

Posology: 
Adults and children > 12 years: The usual daily dosage is 600-1800 mg. (Maximum dose 2400 mg in one day)
Children: The usual daily dosage is 20-40 mg/kg, given in divided doses.

Precautions:
• Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.
• The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.

Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
• Children < 7 kg.
• Active or history of peptic ulcer, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding (≥2 episodes).
• Pregnancy (contraindicated in last trimester; use upon doctor’s advice in the 1st and 2nd trimesters) and breastfeeding.

Undesirable effects:
Side effects are usually mild and not everyone will suffer from them. common side effects (affects up to 1 in 10 people) include feeling dizzy or tired, diarrhea, wind, constipation, headache.

Storage and disposal:
• Keep in a safe place, out of the reach and sight of children.
• Store below 25°C. Protect from light.
• Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
